Argyle St. Chinese New Year
Chinatown New Year's Parade, January 31, 2009 12:14 pm Saturday.
It's funny reading people arguing on internet forums about what day the Chicago Chinese New Year parade is. The thing is, there are two Chinese New year parades in Chicago, one held on Saturday on Argyle and the other down Wentworth on Sunday. Argyle is more fun, more in the street, more firecrackers. The parade on Wentworth is more of a crowd with everyone forced to stay off the street. The gentleman in the costume was featured in both parades.
Anyway this is my year, the ox. Xin Nian Kuai Le.

Cold day in Chicago
Shot 1/15/09 on a cold day, -10 degrees or so.
Shot with a $1299 pinhole camera, pretty pricey but this one is digital. Actually this was shot with a digital camera that has a pinhole camera setting which processes the image in camera to simulate a pinhole effect.
This is another filter which I believe is called grainy black and white.
